The Odyssey Part II - involvement

A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.

to the late hour, but quite fast in Connection with the Prelude, now comes the second part, the involvement, in my little series.

Well before the start of the trip, I began the days and finally expect the hours too impatient to start. I was very upset inside. Not only because of the pleasure my girlfriend see again Janine, but also because it is the first time in about 8 months would be that I would leave the Latin American culture. That might, just for experienced tourists, sound banal. But is it in any way. Because otherwise than the common Tui-Juenger, exchange students and volunteers grow over a longer period with the help of their families, friends and work closely with school and their environment. Even if the immigrant is not always thrilled by his host country - it happens sooner or later simply.

First, I doubted a long time whether I should really go for now in the U.S.. Finally, a culture shock would be unavoidable. Given the stark discrepancy in economic development stages of Paraguay (although many households have electricity) and the USA (ascending whopping 4 trillion tons of annual Neumuellproduktion, trend), this short-term change of scenery would certainly not past me without a trace . Go
But too great was the desire, with my better half again to communicate without crutches, that is, technology can.
addition, it would certainly be an adventure.

When the big day then became a reality at last, I had still not properly registered and grabbed only mechanically my suitcase, said all once again absent goodbye and sat down with my host dad in the car, me in spite of an urgent meeting to the bus Terminal brought. Actually I had planned to take the bus. With case and backpack prallgefuelltem but more of a treat for connoisseurs. 've Made ego won before, namely when I just use my cerebrally disadvantaged, second family do exactly the left, although I at a European schedule at that time my bus to Buenos Aires would have missed.

A sad passing accounted fortunately, as Jorge, my dad * parameters, quickly had to continue. Shockingly, I had about an hour waiting for my bus, but what I left enough time to really get a few more important things I had not considered before, such as food and drink for to get the trip or to exchange money. The world speaks finally visas and no GuaranĂ **. Moreover, I still had
a lavish credit on my phone (about 3 €, what's sufficient for me for two weeks), but that would be forfeited upon my arrival already. Therefore, I assumed that a recharging probably would have to Renew the validity of the entire balance . But as I sat on a bench, my food was served nice to me, and thus blocked the entire seat, I was rather reluctant to get up again extra. Instead, I called presence of mind to my colleague Carlos and asked for a small monetary gift of nature, to which he referred to me then promptly bit by SMS. Yes, it's all about. The whole system would be really curious mobile times an article worth.

After the end of snacking, got really my bus and it started really. The involvement had begun and was now unstoppable. Now there was no turning back ...

* (Please note, word game, "para" (Greek) -> "next", "as opposed to" see "paramilitaries", "paranormal", etc. + Paraguay. So my Paraguayan beside father ^ ^)

** (and a pun. Not only is GuaranĂ, the second official language of Paraguay, but also the local currency. why does this ambiguity, similar to the familiar Visa slogan here with the fact only to money-related statement, "The world does not speak GuaranĂ.")
