Canada: Ecumenical and Evangelical
The Catholic Church Canada, the host of theological discussions agreed with the evangelicals
The first meeting between the Catholic Church of Canada and representatives of the evangelicals are on 24 and 25 March 2011 in Toronto to take place. For the Catholic theology professor Margaret O'Gara, participating for 25 years in dialogue with Protestants, Anglicans and Orthodox, this marks a new era. Among other things, the theology professor considers this step is important because "there are many evangelicals who are interested in Catholicism, and because they have similarities in many areas of Christian doctrine." O'Gara is confident that evangelicals and Catholics find a unit in the vital issues.
David Freeman, vice president of Christian and Missionary Alliance (CMA) of Canada to participate for the evangelicals in the discussions that are conducted informally since 2008, admits frankly that not all Evangelicals will understand this step . Nevertheless, Freeman believes that "many evangelicals appreciate the continuity of the Catholic Church and that it a growing appreciation for the spirituality of the Catholic Frömmigkei t are as they appeared in history. "
The CMA was formed in 1897 from the American Holiness movement and was AB Simpson (1843-1919) founded and led. After AB Simpson's death changed the CMA propfingstlichen their course. In 1919 AW Tozer (1897-1963) the parish of CMA community and served until his death in 1963 in other communities in the CMA. Tozer was the Pentecostal movement of his time over distance. 1950 he became the editor of the CMA magazine Alliance Life selected. We all know the spiritual legacy of Tozer knows that he would turn over in his grave if he knew what is happening with the CMA.
About Unit Tozer wrote:
"If one could show that God always united and always separates the devil, then it would be easy to find our way in this confused world. But it is not, unfortunately. To distinguish what must be divorced, and join what must be united, is part of the divine wisdom.
light and darkness have nothing in common. The attempt to combine both in one place would mean the impossible to achieve, and at the end would have neither the one nor the other, but something twilight quality and obscure.
The truth is sacrificed to keep marriage between heaven and hell and get an idea of unity to maintain the no basis in God's word. , Divide and conquer 'the cynical slogan of the Machiavellian leader * is in politics, but also knows Satan, as he unite and conquer' is.
lost sheep when a cliff fall down, then the individual sheep can save only in that it moves away from the herd. The great unity in this time can only mean the case of all. The as sheep that wants to save his skin secretes, away. Power lies in the union of similar things, and in the separation of dissimilar things.
We probably need not have (not AW Tozer, divisions are always bad
.) Greater unity, but a wise and courageous separation

* to Machiavelli. His name is now associated primarily with ruthless power politics by taking advantage of all (legal) means. The term later coined Machiavellianism is therefore often used as an epithet for a political behavior that refined, but without any influence wants to increase morale and morality of its own power and their own welfare. From Machiavelli is the statement: "The end justifies the means" and "I believe that only the hits, bringing his action in accordance with the times."
